  • CBD for Furry Friends ?

Can I give my dog (or cat) CBD? How much CBD? Can it help for joint health?

What’s the best delivery? How often should I give them CBD?

    Let’s start here:
We know that CBD has various uses. And we know that it works with the endocannabinoid system, a system of receptors located all over the body. The ECS in turn interacts with many other body responses…that is, for us, humans.

But does my dog have an endocannabinoid system?
Not only do doggies have an endocannabinoid system, scientists have noticed that dogs actually have more receptors in their brain than humans do! In fact, all animals have an ECS. (Source)

Because of these receptors, dogs are more susceptible to the effects of CBD. And they can be super sensitive if you give them too much.
    Our tinctures:
Our products are all under the 0.3% THC amount, so you don’t have to worry about your furry friend getting ‘high’ but you might want to keep an eye out for potential symptoms like drowsiness (if you administer too much CBD).

They all also contain full spectrum CBD because we believe that the presence of multiple hemp-derived cannabinoid compounds is better.

    Keeping it simple:
You’ve probably noticed that there are all kinds of dog tinctures out on the market, but they’re basically a more diluted version of a human tincture (same ingredients) unless they added weird flavors. Wicked Kind Wellness oil tinctures aren’t flavored, and we’ve found that animals love them because of the MCT oil + combined with their favorite treat, we’ve gotten through to even the pickiest eaters.

So, in our case, we totally share our tinctures with our furry friends.  #SharingIsCaring Just give them WAY less than a human dose.

    Figuring out dosage:
Start out with a few drops of Nano or our 1500mg Oil Tincture on their favorite treat. ✨ Nano works fastest, if you’re looking for something in the moment. If you’re looking for a long lasting product, we recommend trying the oil, on a treat, at the same time every day.

You can also use CBD topically: for which we recommend an oil based tincture because of the MCT oil content in it, which is great for skin irritations. Bear in mind that your dog might try and lick it off.

Depending on your dog’s size you’ll have to experiment a little. Keep in mind that since canines are super sensitive to CBD, starting out with less is always best (otherwise they’ll sleep a LOT). Please ask your vet for specifics.

Building up CBD in their system over time will also show different results, compared to occasionally giving them CBD. Below is an estimate based on two of our tinctures.

    500mg nano

    A dropper-full is about ~30mg CBD
(1 dropper contains about 20 drops)

    ~1.5mg CBD/drop

    1500mg tincture

    A dropper-full is about 100mg CBD
(1 dropper contains about 20 drops)

    ~5mg CBD/drop
